About this event

The main purpose of the Erasmus+ STT week on People-Centered Leadership is to equip participants with the knowledge, mindset, and practical tools needed to lead people with empathy, clarity, and purpose in an increasingly complex academic environment. Rather than focusing solely on leadership theories, the programme explores how leaders can create cultures of trust, collaboration, wellbeing, and continuous development while achieving institutional goals.

Participants will examine the changing role of leadership in higher education, where rapid technological change, increasing workloads, diverse teams, and evolving expectations require leaders to balance performance with human needs. Through interactive workshops, simulations, case studies, and reflective exercises, participants will strengthen their ability to communicate effectively, motivate others, navigate difficult conversations, manage conflict, and foster psychological safety within their teams.

The programme emphasizes leadership as a practice rather than a position, encouraging participants to develop approaches that are authentic, inclusive, and sustainable.

Whom does it address? The programme is designed for members of the academic community with an English level of B1 or above who wish to strengthen their leadership and people management skills.

It is particularly suitable for: Academic leaders and department coordinators Administrative managers and team leaders Teaching staff with leadership responsibilities International Relations Office staff Researchers leading projects or research teams PhD candidates preparing for future leadership roles Professionals interested in developing their leadership potential No formal management position is required, as many of the skills explored are valuable for anyone who coordinates projects, mentors colleagues, or works in collaborative environments.

How is the programme structured? The training takes place in the multicultural city of Timișoara, Romania, a place whose history has been shaped by diversity, cooperation, and civic engagement. As the European Capital of Culture 2023, Timișoara offers an inspiring environment for exploring modern approaches to leadership and organizational culture.

The programme consists of 25 hours of highly interactive learning delivered over five days through workshops, simulations, leadership challenges, case studies, peer coaching, and facilitated discussions. Sessions run from Monday to Friday.
